Achievements

The outstanding results our students achieve at the external assessment examinations and other competitions prove that our educational strategy is efficient.

EXTERNAL ASSESSMENT AFTER 4th GRADE

Each year the Ministry of Education and Science conducts national external assessment examinations, which serve as a corrective to every school in Bulgaria. The fifth, sixth and seventh graders score exceptionally high in relation to the Grade Point Average of Sofia and the rest of the country.

GOETHE-INSTITUT EXAMINATIONS

Goethe-Institut examinations for children aged 10 – 15 provide an excellent opportunity to assess our students‘ German language proficiency.

The examinations are as follows:

  • Fit 1 corresponding to level A1;
  • Fit 2 corresponding to level A2;
  • ZDfJ corresponding to level B1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages;

Fourth graders sit Fit 1 at the age of 10 - the lowest permissible age - and obtain a certificate for A1 with flying colours.

Fifth graders sit Fit 2 at the end of the school year and successfully attain level A2.

Seventh graders sit ZDfJ in order to obtain a certificate for level B1. This is the most challenging obstacle that our students have to overcome as a final stage of their Primary school education. At level B1 students have to demonstrate a very good command of both spoken and written German. Their fluency and accuracy are assessed. They are expected to react adequately to problematic situations and to commentaries on issues from the world of mass media.
